Many of the jawans, who were admitted to the BDR hospital in Pilkhana, or serving as attendants also participated in the mutiny last year, the prosecutor informed the court.

The court started at about 10:30am and continued till around 11:45 in the morning.

The trial proceedings of the case were adjourned till 10:00am on November 22.

The other members of the court are Lt Col Md Nurul Alam and Maj Md Ali Mustain Khan.

on Wednesday, the special court took a case filed against the 256 mutineers of the hospital unit into congnisance and asked the prosecutor to produce them before the court on Thursday.

Medical assistant of this unit nayek subedar Md Nannu Mia filed the case.

Ninety of the accused were arrested last year in connection with a case for killing, looting and arson. They have shown arrested in this mutiny case. The court also ordered to arrest the rest who were serving at the hospital unit till Wednesday.

Lt Col Dr SMA Al-Muid of the hospital gave a brief but pathetic description to the court about atrocities during the mutiny in which 57 army officers including four doctors were killed.

Several male nurses (medical assistants) of BDR took up arms and helped others in killing and dumping the bodies during the bloody mutiny at the headquarters on February 25-26 last year, he said.

The male nurses, number of which could not be known, might not have killed or tortured officers of their own unit. But they indeed took up arms with the mutineers and helped them kill officers of other units, he added.

Many of them played an active role to remove bodies from Darbar Hall. They took the bodies on trucks and pickup vans and also played a leading role to dump those in a mass grave besides the mortuary of the BDR hospital to destroy evidence.

Doctors Brig Gen Md Zakir Hosain, Lt Col Kazi Rabi Rahman, Lt Col Lutfur Rahman Khan and Maj SM Mamunur Rahman were killed by mutineers of other units.

A total of 74 people, including 57 army officials, were killed during the February 25-26 mutiny at Pilkhana

A Bangladeshi national has been arrested for allegedly possessing seven live cartridges at Mumbai International Airport in India, Indian police said on Friday.

The man, who works for a news channel as an executive officer, was apprehended at the airport when securitymen during a routine check found seven live cartridges in his coat's pocket yesterday evening, reports Press Trust of India.

The Bangladesh national's name has not been revealed by the police.

"He had a flight early in the morning to Bangladesh. The CISF during frisking recovered the cartridges and subsequently he was handed over to us," Inspector B N Tambe at Sahar airport police station said.

He was booked under the Arms Act and his luggage was seized, Tambe said.

"The executive officer claimed that he had come to Mumbai for some work," the officer said.
